The Art of Paper Weaving is much more than a book; it's a book, an art kit, and a portal to creative inspiration made just for you. You'll learn the basics of paper weaving and then deconstruct the book to create your works of art.
This book is for both kids and adults. Amber believes in the importance of engaging in creative play for all ages.
Teachers: add to your calm corner or as an option for extended learning and creative practice.
Kids 7+: swap the screens or the messy paint for scissors, a glue stick, and The Art of Paper Weaving. Encourage your kids to explore while strengthening fine motor skills and pattern recognition.
Creative Teens: Do you have a creative teen who complains of creative block? One of the best ways to unlock inspiration is by creating. Have them use The Art of Paper Weaving as a catalyst for new ideas.
You: Looking for something to help calm your brain at the end of the day? Enjoy the soothing practice of cutting strips and chanting repeated patterns in your mind as you create something beautiful for yourself or gift it to a friend.
Artist and Educator Amber Kane designed the book; learning how to weave unlocked Amber's creative process and helped her launch a textile design business she ran for 10 years. Weaving can be a simple, repetitive, and calming process. Or, it can become highly complex and filled with endless creative problems to solve.
Amber first created a version of this book for herself as she explored the calming practice of paper weaving. She loved the process so much that the book went through several rounds of edits and updates so that she could share it with you.
